Just spent a couple of days up on the downs collecting field flints for a job later on in the year. Although it's a bit tough on the old back, hand selecting flints of a particular size and shape from the field, means that when you come to build a flint wall with them, it's much quicker as there's not so much knapping to do. It's also just nice to collect materials straight from the ground, with beautiful views and just the skylarks for company.
